About Vivid Design Group, Inc.
In 2007, Vivid Design Group, Inc. was established to provide professional, comprehensive architectural and graphic design services to a wide range of clients. The firm was founded by Jeffrey D. Harrison, AIA. For the first six months, the Harrison residence served the needs of the two person operation.
Since then, the company had relocated to Shelby Township Michigan, where it shared space with an automotive based company. Vivid Design Group, Inc. occupied the front office area, while the automotive company occupied the shop area of the building. The Michigan office had municipal, educational (K-12), residential, graphic design work and drafting services.
In 2009, Vivid Design Group, Inc. relocated its world headquarters to the State of Ohio. The firm has submitted for several state projects and has been focusing on the higher education market. VDG also plans on pursuing the K-12 educational market in Ohio along with several other markets including retail, medical, hospitality, municipal and service based clients.
In 2010, VDG started a satellite office in the nations capitol to purse federal work. It was successful in landing several General Service Administration projects.
In 2011, Vivid Design Group started work on several GSA projects in Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing. These projects included Federal Courthouses and United States Post offices. That office is currently in Troy, Michigan and is manned by Robert Shigenaka and two contract employees.
Now in 2014, VDG has diversified itself into four separate divisions under the Vivid Design Group Family. It provides architectural and engineering services for various clients and building types. It has branched out into engineering services including automotive and product design. VDG also felt the need to provide prototyping services with its growing market in the automotive and product design industry. This includes both 3D printing services and light assembly processes. The latest addition to the VDG family has been professional staffing. It provides contract and direct hire staffing services for architects, engineers, and construction management personnel through out the country.
VDG plans on adding many other employees in the near future. The world headquarters is still currently located in Columbus and part of Worthington, Ohio. The firm currently has municipal, federal, medical, hospitality, and graphic design work in the state of Ohio. It has also currently worked on upper educational projects in New Orleans. Jeffrey D. Harrison, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C as President and CEO travels on a regular basis to all three offices depending on project needs and demands.
VDG looks forward to a continually prosperous market in Ohio and Michigan. Its central location in Columbus allows it to reach out to other states such as, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. The Michigan office is doing very well in the automotive/manufacturing sectors as well as in the professional staffing industry. VDG plans on starting a market base in California and Arizona in the far future.
